What Is Global Warming..?

Climate change is any substantial change in Earth’s climate that lasts for an extended period of time. Global warming is an observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans. Part of this increase may be due to natural processes, and would have occurred independently of human activity. It is also one of the biggest problems facing the world today. Many scientists believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases has a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this could be very dangerous for human life. A rise in the temperature may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans. When scientists talk about the issue of climate change, their concern is about global warming caused by human activities.

Causes Of Global Warming

There are many factors contribute rising of the global warming phenomena. One of them is the enormous number of people on the earth helps to rise the temperature on it. Especially in the modern countries, because it classify as industrial country. As a result of that, people needs are increasing more than before. For example, these countries establish more factories to cover those needs without care of the air polluted. Also, the development transfer the things which are in the past secondary things to be main things presently like cars which release big amount of Carbon Oxide and other gases when the petroleum burning in it. In addition, the greenhouses are considers as one of the biggest causes of the global warming related to their wok method. So the water vapor, carbon dioxide, and methane assist to heat the earth, because they keep the sunbeams and prevent them back to earth's atmosphere.

Main Cause Of Global Warming

Over population….

From the recent climate change going on in the world, it has been proven that "over population" is one of the strongest causes of global warming. The countries in the world that have already been affected greatly are China and India, where both are in great need of help to control global warming.

Trying to control the over population that is causing global warming, China has put strict rules for parents. The rules are that they must pay a high fine for having a third child to the government. But this has not stopped the Chinese population to grow; in which an advantage and a disadvantage came out of the growth in the population.
An example of the advantage is that factories have a big number of national workers, making the Chinese a talented population. However, the amount of chemical gases coming out the factories spoils the climate, leading to pollution and harming the health of the population.

On the other hand, India, a country rich with its culture, is affected by global warming and there is not much done about this issue. Unfortunately the country is deeply affected by global warming. The proof is seen through the rate of deaths happening per year. All are caused by pollution. The reasons are over population and the use of chemicals in factories, cars, motorbikes, etc…

Over population is not only happening in the above mentioned countries, but it has began all around the world. Unless it will be controlled, the world will go through global warming. Sadly we are all involved in the cause of global warming.

World Population Growth Graph

The growth in population is very much bound up with poverty, and in turn poverty plunders the earth. When human groups are dying of hunger, they eat everything: grass, insects, everything. They cut down the trees, they leave the land dry and bare. All other concerns vanish.

Effects of Global Warming

Global warming is the warming near the earth's surface those results when the earth's atmosphere traps the sun's heat. The earth is getting warmer. The changes are small, so far, but they are expected to grow and speed up. Within the next 50-100 years, the earth may be hotter than it has been in the past million years. As oceans warm and ice melt, land and cities along coasts may be flooded. Global warming will affect weather everywhere, plants and animals everywhere, people everywhere.

Rising In Sea Level..

One of the biggest effects of global warming is the rising of the sea level. The reason for this is the melting of the polar ice caps, causing the rise of the sea level, and threatening the low lying coastal areas and cities causing them to flood. Those countries include Egypt, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh. Moreover some other countries may even disappear completely out of the face of the earth. Scientists assumed that the warmer the temperature in the sea, the higher it rises. However, the heat causes the water to expand and when the ocean expands more space are taken up. An example of the melting is the entire coast of Florida. The coast is threatened by rising seas and stronger surges during storms.

As the chart show in the last century the sea level was steady, but in the last twenty years the sea level was raising about 0.10 meters as a one of the global warming effects.

UAE & Global Warming

In April 29 to 30/2007, His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan come to the UAE in official visit to meet His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss their country relation, also the universal circumstances and many global issue one of them was the global warming. On other hand, H.H Sheikh Khalifa suggested to develop the Clean Development Mechanism project (CDM) which contributes to reduce the consequences of the global warming. I think (CDM) is a good step, but the government has a big responsibly to learn the citizens more about the global warming and their effects by using the media (TV, Radio). So the UAE will have a positive attitude about the global warming issue.
